Hi, so basically my 18th birthday is coming up in a few weeks. It's a sunday so obviously i can't go out on my birthday. I have plans with my friends the evening before my birthday. I can't go out the night before (i.e. after 12 when it is my birthday) because i have plans on my birthday (in the morning) and i don't want to lose half my birthday. My problem is i think my friends are still planning on going out without me. Is it unreasonable to not want them to go out without me on my birthday?

You can go out to a bowling alley or maybe postpone it to the Monday night?
Have you actually set up a group chat with the friends you want to hang out with, and asked them what their plans are?

Thanks for your reply. Sorry if my meaning was unclear. I am going for a meal with my friends the night before my birthday. By 'going out' i meant clubbing, and I was asking if it was unreasonable to not want my friends to go clubbing without me on my 18th birthday when they know i cannot go

Yes it's unreasonable. If they want to go out, you have no tight to stop or deter them. Any day of the year. It's their life not yours.

Yeah, you can't really stop them from going out just because you're not there. To them it'll be a normal night out, not like they'll be celebrating your birthday in your absence.
