In terms of doing undergraduate medicine with an intercalated degree, compared to getting a degree then studying graduate medicine (4 year course), is there a difference in the amount of student finance you'll receive?

You get full amount of support from SF for undergrad+intercalation. You get a reduced amount for grad med (but get NHS bursary earlier to compensate) so works out pretty similar. You get very little support if you're a grad on an undergrad course.

As a 6th former about to embark on a gap year, try again! Grad med is considerably harder to get into.

Though if you're set on grad courses (why wouldn't you be, Swansea is just too damn good! :P ) look for courses which act as feeder programmes to their respective GEM courses. Swansea has several for example, as does Birmingham, Cardiff and Bradford.

I only need the one. Now the question is, how much would you like my kidney?
