I have posted some questions before. https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/sho....php?t=5198982

I'm not sure exactly what I should take for my GCSE's. I have looked at Computer Science, but not sure on any other subjects to take.

At GCSE it doesn't really matter I think. Does your school offer Triple Science? That's the only other subject (esp. the physics elements) that stand out to me.

At A level though you should definitely consider doing Maths.

As well as Computer Science GCSE and A Level, I would suggest doing some extra-curricular things to broaden your knowledge and express your interest. Last summer I went on a free CyberFirst residential that GCHQ ran and it was amazing - you learn all about cyber security and networks (https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/information/cyberfirst-courses). They have three different ones depending on which year you are in.

Also, check out https://idea.org.uk/ it's a bit like the Duke of Edinburgh award except it's just online and all about computer stuff including security. You just have to complete different tasks.

I hope this is useful x

Appreciate this is a somewhat old thread, but if you're still looking, this summer's CyberFirst courses are now available to book - head on over to https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/information/cyberfirst-courses for more details, dates etc. They're held in various locations around the UK, give a great introduction or more in-depth experience of cyber security (depending on your age) and all are free.
