Hey, I need some help regarding subject choice for Scottish highers. I’m hoping to study veterinary medicine as a career.
At the moment I take English, maths, biology, chemistry, physics, engineering Science and French. Next year I’m thinking about keeping them all up except I have to drop one. I either drop English (my least favourite subject) or engineering (one of my favourites but something I don’t exactly need)

    Someone please help!!

    Hi :wavey:

Nice to see someone else doing Scottish Qualifications who wants to do vet med as well!

Either option would be absolutely fine for vet med. Entry requirements don't specify that you need higher English, so you won't be disadvantaged in your application by not having it. What's more important is getting the right grades, so you should choose whichever of the two you think will get you the best grade

    Hope this helps

Labrador99 is absolutely right. The only uni that would probably want you to have higher English for vet med is Cambridge so go with the subjects that you think you will get the highest grades in. However you are suggesting that you are going to do 6 highers instead of the standard 5? If this is the case be aware that it won't give you any advantage to do 6 and if your grades suffer as a result of doing an extra one it will be a big disadvantage.

I say go for the one you will get a better grade in. That usually means... the one you enjoy more.
    Either option is good!
