I suffer with anxiety and depression and paranoia. i am 16 and it has affected my day-to-day life.I am surrounded by family and friends who love and care for me and want to see me do well but I don't feel that way. I struggle to socialise and make eye contact. This leads to me having panic attacks as I am so flooded with bad thoughts and not knowing what to do.I am not happy in myself, nor confident. can someone please leave some advice below or pm me. i'd love to become a much happier person

    Hello,
I understand how you feel. I’m currently 18 but have been suffering with severe anxiety & depression since I was 11. Talking from experience don’t push you family away talk to them also seek out help, a useful website that I used was https://www.time-to-change.org.uk/me...lp-and-support it allowed me to find experienced people who I could speak to openly.

I understand you are feeling negative thoughts, don’t let into those feelings go to your family or friends if that’s difficult I had one specific teacher at school who I trusted and who helped me understand the feelings I was dealing with. It was she who recommended me to this website which was incredibly useful in understanding how I was feeling (https://youngminds.org.uk/)

If it also helps visit your GP who can suggest services that may help with how you are feeling.

Hope this advice helps, and remember to keep your head high and live everyday like an awesome adventure.

i know this is just going to sound like a cliche but the main thing is that you have believe in yourself and taje risks. personally i dont suffer with anxiety or paranoia but i have delt with depression and even now i struggle to socialise and make eye contact. if you ever need someone to take to hit me up i dont judge cause ive been through it and deal with it.

+1 to Robert_Gray. "The main thing is that you believe in yourself". There is a difference between gloating and being confident. Start understanding what you like about yourself -- yes, there's something in there you like -- and appreciate it.

Also, when going into conversations with others, don't think about what they think about you; instead, say to yourself, "I hope I like them." Remember, they're judging themselves just as much as you are. (Or close)

    Does that make sense?

I also suffer with high-level generalised and social anxiety, moderate depression and mild PTSD. My advice would be to go to the doctors and ask for talking therapies, I once thought (and still do) the same way as you.. and the best thing I did was get help from the doctors. You’re old enough to go yourself since you’re 16 and you won’t need to get your family involved unless you want to.

Feel free to message me! I’m more than happy to talk about this in private if you want more info.
