So I chose ‘Electronics’ as a GCSE subject. But, that no longer exists under the new GCSE. Instead my school have chosen for me to do ‘Systems’ (in addition to the core content of the edexel syllabus). They weren’t very transparent about the change and said ‘there are only a few new things to learn’. But it has become apparent to me that there are a lot more than a few things to learn. Most of my electronics knowledge from the old GCSE is useless now. They chose systems so that SOME of it can still be used - but most of it is useless. What is stressing me out above all is that we have covered nothing from the syllabus in terms of the exam. We have only been doing practical work. They have said they’ll teach us the exam work in y11 but I’m not satisfied with that. What can I do to begin learning this new course myself?
