Hi, I'm currently in year 12 and wanting to study English at uni, however I'm not sure what to drop after mock exams in March. I currently take English Literature, Music, History and Sociology and ideally I would like to drop Sociology as I find it the least enjoyable. Despite this, I find history slightly harder and even though it would probably fit better with the 2 other subjects I want to continue, would it matter if I had to continue sociology if mocks don't go as well as I want them to?

History is more valued by unis, so I would maybe consider keeping with that unless you really need to drop it. As well as you won’t be motivated to revise for a subject you dislike!

Thank you! I'm almost at the same grade in both but history just slightly less, so hopefully if i drop sociology I could push history up a bit. I understand it's more valued, hence why I really want to keep it!

Good luck! I’m sure you can get a really good grade in history once you don’t have to revise for sociology.
