In my opinion, the best show ever is Inside No 9. It's an anthology series; there's been 4 seasons with 6 episodes of 30 mins each. Every episode is unique; they're generally quite dark but often also really funny and they're honestly so different to anything else on tv (some people compare it to black mirror which is also very good but I think they're quite different). What's so good about them, other than the fantastic writing and acting, is that they are usually really unpredictable, so they end with a twist that you don't see coming but still makes perfect sense.

I have recommended this show to multiple people, yet only one person listened and they absolutely love it (my family, and some of my parents friends, love it too). A lot of people say it "doesn't sound like their thing" but I'd just give it a go, because despite it not being very well known, most people who watch it regard it as genius/best thing on TV.

If you do watch it/anyone else watches it reading this thread please let me know! First 2 series are on Netflix, 3rd you'd have to buy and a few episodes from series 4 which has just aired are still on iplayer. I'd love it if people tried it out (and hopefully enjoyed it!) To the OP: series 1 episode 6 is probably the episode that has the most "horror" in if you wanted to try one of the really dark ones first.

Jetix was great. :moon: Not that I can remember what I watched on there, only that it was great. :p:

Another new one on me. What's it about, to save me Googling this (and all the others, synopses are always helpful people!)

The End of the F****ing World

It doesn't really fit into the categories you listed as being a fan of but there's only 8 episodes and each is 20 minutes so won't take long at all. It's about two 17 year olds, one of which thinks he might be a psychopath and so wants to kill someone, this someone he thinks being "Alyssa". Basically it's two outsiders who go on a journey and end up in some really bad situations.

It's really dark but done really well I think.

On Netflix if you ever get round to it amongst all the other suggestions haha

As the title says, I've barely watched any live action series on TV since 2018 (the only exceptions being Eurovision, The Apprentice and Robot Wars).
    :wtf: Hardly a long time...

Finally found the free time to go back and look through this thread, and I've decided that I'll start with Stranger Things. Maybe it'll be the beginning of a major binge, as there are plenty of other series here that appeal... or maybe I'll just end up falling back into my old anime and gaming routine once those 8 episodes of S1 are over. :p: Either way, many thanks for all the recommendations!

Late but these would be mine:

    Stranger Things (Sci-Fi/Horror)
American Horror Story (Depending on your favourite tropes, you can watch each series in any order)
    Black Mirror (Sci-Fi)
    Game of Thrones (Fantasy)
Breaking Bad (None of the genres you've listed, but honestly one of the greatest TV shows of all time so it's worth watching anyway)
    Rick and Morty (Cartoon)
    Altered Carbon (Sci-Fi)
The End of the F***ing World (Not horror, more dark comedy)
Bates Motel (Based on Psycho etc)

Those are the ones that spring to mind. I have other recommendations but they're not part of your listed genres. As for accessibility, all of those listed are available on Netflix except for Game of Thrones.

Already watching, as mentioned in the post directly above. :p: And I'm really enjoying it, two episodes in.
