I’m 19, currently on a gap year but thinking of taking another year off to earn more money for university as well as volunteer, travel and study some other subjects I’m interested in - meaning I would be 20 when I begin uni in 2019.

I’m really interested in applying to Cambridge to study English, however my A Levels were A*A*B in English Literature, Performing Arts and English Language respectively. With these subjects and grades and taking two years after A Levels to mature and grow, do you think it will be worth me trying for Cambridge? I know that for humanities subjects they typically want A*AA.

I don't see why not as A*AA is the same as A*A*B and you got the A* in Eng Lit

Unfortunately the B in EngLang isn't offset by the extra A* so I think it's unlikely you would be successful.

But if you wait a little one of the resident Cambridge Admissions Tutors will be hosting a thread for questions like this. Or you can email a few colleges and ask them.
