    when combing the half equation of 2I– → I2 + 2e– and 2IO3–+10I–+12H+ →6I2+6H2O

    why is the answer:
    2IO3–+10I–+12H+ → 6I2+6H2O

why doesn't the combined half equation include anything to do with this half equation: 2I– → I2 + 2e–

    when is this the case?

is combining half equation the same as redox equation
