I’m now in my 3rd year and I know a lot of the people I was once close with has changed etc...I’m quite a popular person and always chat to people around uni and hear the whole ‘you know everyone don’t you?’ However, I still feel lonely. I’m part of a lot of societies, and again I know a lot of people, but these people feel more like acquaintances than friends like I have back home. Weekends can get boring and I often end up doing nothing. I’d like to do more during the day but feel it would be weird to ask these people I know to come to the salon with me or shop for example. Any advice?

You can turn your acquaintances into friends. Do you have them on social media? Talk to them every now and then, ask what they're interested in doing and try to build more of a connection between you. Start by doing small things like going to lunch or drinks. You can build a small friendship group this way too by inviting others along.
