Currently in year 12 and really want to go into either dentistry or medicine. However grades wise I’ve been struggling with the content and new change of exam style questions so my back ups are medical pharmacology and biomedicine. If I don’t get into either medicine or dentistry should I apply again the next year and risk not getting accepted again or go for my backups ? Also I don’t know what I should be doing to maximise my chances of getting the grades, making myself stand out and getting in to uni! And I still don’t know which I should go for ... medicine or pulling people’s teeth out !!

Firstly, you need to decide what sort of career you actually want. All of these degrees you listed have vastly different careers associated with them. You have listed four dramatically different paths and really do need to spend some time working out which one if any you want as your career.

If you do not get accepted into your first choice, you need to look at the reason why. If it was due to grades, you can consider resitting, however some universities won't accept resits. If it was due to lack of experience or your personal statement, this is more easily fixed.
