Hi, I would be really grateful for your advice as to what GCSEs you would recommend I take. I’ve been advised by my head teacher, that as a MAT student, I only take 1 BTEC due to the prejudice surrounding them at universities. I was planning to take Business studies and ICT (both BTECs) as I hope to pursue a career in Digital Marketing/ Web design. I’m also attempting to decide between Sociology and History, as I have an interest in politics. Currently, I think I may opt for History, Business and French but I really don’t want to make the wrong decision. Also, 2 of my options will fall in the same box and there is not a subject I’m interested in in Box A - could this prove problematic? Thank you :-)

    Take History over Sociology.
    French is fine.

As for BTEC then one is fine, but chat with them about whether 2 is acceptable. Computer studies is seen as more challenging than ICT. Honestly dont think it will make that much difference if you are dong a lot of GCSEs i.e 10+.

You also need consistent high grades, so dont take subjects you might struggle with.

Thank you very much for your help. Unfortunately, my school does not offer courses in Computer Studies or any other I.T related subject at GCSE level; aside from I.C.T BTEC.
