Is it better to go to a uni that has a great rep but not a great course or to a uni who's rep isn't as good but had a better course. for job prospects?

Better course, for sure. You get one student loan (in effect, one chance to go to uni), don't waste it on a course you won't enjoy.

It's not that I don't like the course. I'm just wondering when employers look at your degree do they look at how good the course is, or just how good the uni is?

Employers won't know (or care) how good X university is for Y subject, so in that sense your university name matters more than the course. But university reputation is not that important these days, so it hardly matters.

So would you say that the type of degree you get (e.g. 2:1) is more important than where u get it?
