I completed my undergrad in mechanical engineering and hope to pursue a course related to process systems. I have an offer from Imperial College London for advanced chemical engineering. I wanted to know how difficult it is for a mechanical engineer to pursue her masters in chemical. Would it be a good idea to directly switch fields like this?

It will depend on which modules you do but you should be fine. I'm currently doing my masters and I don't think someone with a mechanical background would struggle with the options I chose. Some modules might expect people to know some fundamental chemical engineering principles so you'd be at a disadvantage but definitely doable.

Thank you, I really appreciate this.

If the university has given you an offer then they think you will be capable.

Most UK MSc programs do not assume too much subject specific knowledge and so there will be a catch up period at the beginning of the year where you will be able to, well, catch up.
