    Both are lovely cities. Edinburgh's probably more touristy than Bristol in terms of stuff to do.

    Rent is ridiculous here though, and I'd imagine Bristol is quite expensive as well. However, public transport (Lothian Buses and Trams) is incredibly frequent and reasonably priced, and as a student, you'll be able to buy a 9-month rideacard.

    Best thing to do (if you can) is to visit both cities. You can fly directly from Bristol to Edinburgh Airport so if you have the time and the money, you could possibly spend a day in Bristol and then fly to Edinburgh?
