Hi, I’m a first year adult nursing student. At my university we do learn about more medical things like anatomy & physiology and practical things like documentation, drug administration, resuscitation etc. but we do focus on communication, empathy and other so-called “soft” skills as part of our training. So I wouldn’t say it’s really medicalised personally.
If you are interested in working in residential care after qualifying just do bear in mind all nursing students are required to gain experience in different departments & environments in their field of nursing. So you may be expected to do a placement in community with a district nurse or at a GP surgery.
    I hope this helps.

    Hi there!
My name is Alice and I am a student ambassador at BU. I study Communication and Media, however on our website we have a list of modules that the course entails and it gives a brief description of each module so I will leave a link here in case you haven't seen it:
https://www1.bournemouth.ac.uk/study...-adult-nursing I would also recommend attending one of our open days as you will be able to find out more about the course by talking to lecturers and current students as well as seeing the University and the surrounding area. Here is a link:
https://www1.bournemouth.ac.uk/open-days your course would be based at the Landsdowne/Yeovil Campus.
Please feel free to ask any other questions
    Alice
