# How do you know which way the inequality (if that’s what it’s called) sign is? watch

1. In this question I have to figure out what the equations of the lines are and I get how to do that but I don’t understand how you know which sign to choose? greater than or equal to or less than etc

For example if you look at the line labelled 1 in the picture I knew it was y = 2 but where does the sign come into play?

Sorry if I’m being really stupid I just get confused and you can’t type everything into google but have to ask and there’s no one around
2. well you could put 2>Y<2 and -4<X<4 ( the < is supposed to be more than equal too, but I don't know how to put that on the keyboard.)
I have no idea if the question needs you to put that in or you could just put y=2 and -4<x<4 (You could put x is infinite somehow I can't remember how though.)
