Right so I’m going to start at Southampton University doing a Maths BSc and I have a couple questions with student finance:
1. How do you apply?
2. When do you apply?
3. What do you apply with?
4. What happens when you apply?
5. How long does the process take?
6. What type of loans do you get?
7. How long till those loans come through?
8. What loans do we use for specific things? I.e, like maintenance loans
9. Do you apply for student finance first then accommodation?

Any help and answers to these questions will be much appreciated

Hi therealajay,

1. The quickest way to apply is online - http://bit.ly/1gUe31b

2. You can apply just now for 18/19.

3. Applications will take 6-8 weeks to process.

4. Loans available are Tuition Fees and Maintenance Loan, also you can apply for dependents grants if they have dependent children or an adult dependent on yourself, you may also be entitled to apply for Disabled Student Allowance if you have a disability.

5. when the application has been approved, you will be sent an entitlement letter this will advise how much you are entitled to and confirm when your payments will be scheduled into your account, we will only make payments when the College/University has confirmed your registered on the course.

6. Its up to yourself if you want to apply for accommodation or finance first.

Here is a link to our calculator that will give you an estimate of your entitlement http://bit.ly/1eWRiXJ.

Thanks

Catherine
