Keele was my first interview for Social Work back in December. It's super chilled and the interviewers are really nice and make you feel relaxed. Just know why you want to study social work and you'll be fine! There's nothing to catch you out - just enjoy the experience! They don't expect you to know anything about social work really as that's what you're going there to learn - they want to know about you.

Hey thank you for replying and how was the written test and the group discussion? Do you have any suggestions on what I can read to help me?

Honestly there’s not really much you can do to prepare for them. The written test was just a scenario and they wanted to know what you would do. They said no ones ever failed is and it’s just your written skills that gets tested I think - just make sure your response is fair and non discriminative. Sorry I had my interview so long ago and have done a few now that I can’t remember the specifics. The group discussion was led by the interviewer and more of an informal chat that literally lasted about 5 mins. Just communicate fairly and respect others viewpoints but make sure you show off your thoughts too. Remember they’re not looking for you to have loads of knowledge and from all of my interviews I’ve literally not needed to know any knowledge at all! They’ve all been about me and my personal thoughts.

I did so much prep for interviews - the social work code of ethics, role of a social worker, lots of case studies and all of it went to waste as they just wanted to know why I wanted to do sw and my experience. So just show your passion!
