Today Henry Bolton was removed as leader of UKIP after his (ex)girlfriend Jo Marney was found to have sent racist texts about Meghan Markle.

Bolton was sacked after a motion of no confidence passed through at the UKIP EGM today, most of Bolton's top team had walked out in January. London MEP Gerard Batten takes over as interim leader.

Bolton earlier in the day said he felt like Princess Diana to which Welsh Assembly leader Neil Hamilton said "well she's dead isn't she, perhaps that's where he sees his career going"

UKIP as a party are now very much dead.

And the labour leaning members form momentum 2 of the labour party?

That's what Arron Banks called for, but the Tory membership are already genuinely eurosceptic and consevative. But those in control, almost all the MPs and donors want to preserve the alliance with big business promoting globalism and centerism.

The membership aren't able to change that, to elect someone like Rees-Mogg he would have to be voted in the top two by MPs before the membership had a say.

Unfortunately a waste of time I think. The ‘progressives’ have secured it even more firmly than the Tory party. ‘Blue Labour’ is just a meme unfortunately

'Now'? They have been dead since the referendum was won. At least now he and Marney can now be together without anyone caring.

UKIP have gone through so many leaders... they've been irrelevant since the Article 50 triggering. Polls for them are at an all time low and most of the vote share has split between the main two again.

Since 2006 they’ve had 10 leaders, 3 of them were Nigel Farage.

Let them die. They’ve served their purpose in feeding the antiestablishment message to the unwashed masses and convincing them to vote for Brexit.

Now let’s deliver the hard Brexit Britain deserves. We need to role back the state, reduce employment protections and health and safe teeth, we need to eliminate trade barriers. Make Britain a land of opportunity.

I'll bet Marney will have ditched him within six months.

Nope. He is part of the Hard Left that is against the EU for being a capitalist club and for being too close to the US.

Frank Field is Blue Labour along with a handful of others.

Good riddence. I don't particularly care about Marney or her private opinions, but a man who completely abandons his wife and children for another woman has no business leading a party that claims to uphold conservative and traditionalist values. Though honestly, I can't really tell what UKIP actually stand for anymore, they are just a waste of space at this point.

Quite ironic, to be the President of France, infidelity is a requirement!

I'm going to miss UKIP and all their little.. foibles. They, along with trump, always provide a jolly good wheeze whenever they pop up on the 6 o'clock news.

It is funny how they get so much coverage for a party that has 1 (or is it 0 now) members

Haven't the fawning sycophants in the tory party already transformed them into that?
