Biochemistry Books! watch

    • Thread Starter

I am in year 12 currently and I'm looking for some book suggestions for biochemistry- something fairly challenging but still accessible for an A level student- I've read the Selfish Gene and Nick Lane... any other suggestions??

I'm not sure if this will be helpful, but I've just read a book called 'The Cell' by Joshua Z. Rappoport; the book is fascinating, starting out by describing the basics of cell structure covered in A level biology, but going on to describe technology and techniques used to study the molecules of life. It is written by a scientist, and is pretty scientifically up to date - challenging enough, but not too difficult. Might be worth a read.
