    Hi

I started a PGCE teaching course in September 2017 and applied for student finance. I attended up until January and received my September payment and my January payment. I then had to withdraw from the course for a variety of reasons. I understand I will have a grant overpayment that will need to be paid back asap. However, I have had to use the money for bills etc as I wasn't able to get any benefits and had no other income (I get the special support grant for lone parents).

But here's the thing, I have now been offered a place to start on a 3 year undergraduate nursing course in March 2018 which is just a few weeks away. I have been told that I can study nursing as a second degree and will be able to apply for student finance like any other undergraduate course for the first time.

*However, would I be able to access funding for a course that is in the same year as another course I withdrew from? I was hoping in regards to the grant overpayment I could ask to have it taken out of my future student finance payments in installments? I only have a few weeks to get all this sorted and i'm panicking/worried that I might not be able to get funding because of this grant overpayment.

Please any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Sarah,

As you have withdrawn from your previous course, you can apply for the new course by completing a paper PN1 application form http://bit.ly/2tAXVNU, with regards to your grant overpayment you will be sent a letter to advise that you have an overpayment, you will need to contact the overpayments team to discuss paying this back.

    Thanks

    Catherine
