Can't help but compare myself to her. Every guy I have ever liked has fancied her. Everytime we go out guys stare at her. I don't want attention, I just want to stop always noticing this and constantly feeling so insecure next to her.

Envy is a waste of time. make the most of yourself. In X years you will probably not know her and the people around you will not either. there are always people who seem better , but there are also those where you are so much better.

Focus on making the most of yourself. She may in the end have lots of misfortune you dont know.

I know it's easier said than done but constantly comparing yourself to others is going to jeopardize your self-esteem, which will damage your mental health in the long run. Not to be pessimistic or anything, but it's the harsh truth. For all you know, your friend could have her own insecurities. Everyone has them at different extents, so maybe her 'confidence' is actually disguising how insecure she may feel? Idk.

Maybe try talking to her about how you feel. Or try and look for the positives about yourself. What are you good at? What skills/features do you have that your friend hasn't? What compensates for the lack of attention you get for your appearance? Your personality? Your intellect? I'm sure you're not ugly so don't go beating yourself up about boys fancying her.
