    I found them all ok actually. None of them were mega hard or anything. All were pretty interesting and not mega difficult or anything.
    Ive always liked geography anyway. And business studies and sociology were both new subjects.
    Cool!!

    I'm Y12 now but this is what I took:

    Maths
    English Literature
    English Language
    Triple Science
    RE
    IT
    French
    ArtGeography

    For A levels I take Geography, RS, French and Chemistry. My school doesn't have wonderful options so I could never take drama or computing or food tech etc.

    How are you finding French A-Level?

    It's alright. It's fairly enjoyable but quite hard. The only difference for younger years in comparison to mine is that the GCSE is more suited for the transition between Y11 and Y12 than ours was. Ours was all coursework based so much easier than the current one.

    Yes, I'm very lucky in that sense. Even my sister (who's currently in year 10) was taught somewhat irrelevant content at KS3, and is struggling with elements of her GCSE content that I understand, because she hasn't been taught them!

    It's really good to take them if you can! I can't stand History, so that wasn't really an option for me (and I love Drama so I don't want to do RS) but if you can get good grades in them and enjoy them, they are very impressive to have!

    I'm in year 10 and I'm doing:
    Maths, English Language and Literature, Combined Science (all compulsory), French, Geography, Latin, Music (my options) and Spanish (I'm taking it outside of school as they couldn't fit it in the timetable and I want to go into a languages based career in the future and I'd rather start a language from scratch now than in year 12)

    Because all my other options are definite - the core subjects, then triple science, French, Spanish and geography, and I only have one option left

    Oo, yes I'm in year 8 too those subjects look really good! If you're asking me if I know German and Spanish, I've studied Spanish, yes, but I only know very basic German (guten tag, ja, etc). I'm not taking German to GCSE unless I, for some reason, have to use my reserve. I am, however, taking both Spanish and French, as I really like them

    Hi,

    I am in year 11 now and doing;
    English Lit/Lang
    Maths
    Biology
    Chemistry
    Physics
    and then I chose to do;
    History
    GCSE PE
    French
    Spanish
    A word of advice for anyone thinking of taking two languages:
    It is really hard and you will have to put the work in. I'm quite good at languages and it is still a challenge. Also, you may find that the language you pick up for GCSE is actually easier. I had done two years of french before taking my GCSE's and I find spanish so much easier now. Don't let it dishearten you and keep sticking at it! Languages are so important and help you to understand the english language a lot easier.

    😂ahw I'm no role model!! If you want a role model then Eve Bennett took Spanish and German at GCSE, and studies them both now at A-Level and is going to Oxford to study Spanish and German in October!
