I'm in a bit of an awkward position at the moment because, with only two terms left to go until I sit my written A-level exams (my first exam is French speaking at the end of April), my Sociology teacher has not yet started to teach Theory and Methods, which accounts for a whopping 25% of my overall grade. To say that I'm not panicking is a major understatement, especially I genuinely fear that I won't be able to get into my firm choice because of Sociology. I need AAA to meet my offer - my mock results were A*A*B, the last of which was for Sociology (I was one mark off an A, but it only covered Media and Crime and Deviance - not representative of the 3 papers I'll be sitting in June!) - and, needless to say, I would be devastated if I could not go to my firm university,
Since I've lost faith in the teaching of Sociology at my school, I've resolved to teach the Theory and Methods unit in my own time, but I'm really at a loss as to where I can start. Ultimately, I don't want Sociology to distract me from my other two subjects (English Lit and French), but I cannot afford to waste any more time waiting for my teacher (one of two that I have - the other teaches the Media topic) to start T+M in class when time is already running out.
Any advice on what topics to cover and what to focus on would be greatly appreciated!
