ENGLISH LANGUAGE PAPER 1 QUESTION 2 is my teacher stupid? watch

    • Thread Starter

I did my gcse english language mock in december and got one mark off of an 8, I watched mr bruff videos where he says for question two (AQA) you should de sentence types as one of your answers to get the highest marks on the question.

So I did just that but once I got my paper back I got 4/8 on that question and my teacher had put a cross through the whole paragraph. When I asked him what the issue was he said the you should just scribble out 'sentence forms' and only do the other two bullet points.

Surely the exam board just wouldn't put that bullet point there if they didn't want you to answer it. What should I do?

I'm not sure why he did that but at the same time I think there's a lot more you could say instead of writing a paragraph on sentence types. Sentence types is definitely strong and you should mention them however, I also think it's good to focus on other things too instead of writing solely about sentence types. Maybe link it in with another point? Sentence types are hard to write about and there's not much that you can say sometimes so don't worry about it too much. Well done though!! Sounds like despite that question, you did pretty well

Bullet points - nope my teacher told us never to do that, and yes the question came up in our class.
A-level students - how do you feel about your results?
