So I got 3As during A Levels but suffered with depression and anxiety throughout uni.

I went to Newcastle uni for 3 years and graduated with a HND in Engineering. - Stayed in my room A LOT, missing lectured, not eating properly, missing going out with friends and a whole host of issues.

When I graduated in 2016, I decided to go to a *****y uni to do a top up degree to turn my HND to a BEng... Still depressed af and I graduated with a third

In hindsight, I should have take a gap year and went to therapy for then gone back but thats too late.

So what I'm hoping to do now is to go to a uni in London apply for a BEng Top up course so that I can turn my HND into a 2:1 degree as I can't get a decent job with a third class degree.

    Would this be possible/advisable?

    Any advice is appreciated.

If they will do it and you can get funding, then absolutely. Your control of your mental health after A levels to now has been lacking, so make sure if you do get the chance of a top up, then you have yourself sorted.

Have you sorted out your mental health? There's absolutely no point in slogging on and scraping/failing time after time when you have the same entering problem. Focus on fixing your health.

In the meantime, while improving your health try and get some work experience, because an HND > 3rd > 2.1 isn't going to look like a strong profile without a bunch of experience to go with it. In fact, I'd advise giving study and longer break, starting from a non-graduate entry point, and waiting 3-5 years and then considering a Masters based on work experience.

Have you tried getting a job with your current degree? A 3rd class honours is still an honours degree, and a lot of jobs only specify that you must be educated to degree level, not the actual grade.

And as has already been advised, it's probably more important that you work on improving your mental health, rather than risk potentially more issues...

Do you have any engineering/related work experience?
