Im currently in year 11 now and im debating in my head if i should stay and proceed into my 6th form at my school or go to a completely different 6th form.I need some opinions and advice because im really struggling to decide because i got accepted to both 6 forms.

Pros and cons to stay at my 6 form

    Pro:
    -Walking distance to school
    -Teachers already know me well
-Friends (don’t need to make new friends)
    -parents want me to stay

    Cons:
    -Having to do pe(unfortunately)
    -Finishing at 3:45 everyday
    -Cant leave on free periods
-Spending another 2 years with the same people
    -Some teachers actually cant teach
-Having to do sports day(yess i admit im lazyyy)

Pros and cons of the new 6th form

    Pro:
    -Meeting new friends and teachers
    -New experiences
    -Teachers can actually teach better
-One of the best 6 forms in the area that i live in

    Cons:
    -Could get bullied
-Might not fit in( could hang around with negative people)
-Teachers can give a bad reference since they don’t know me well
    -Travelling is time consuming

I was in a similar predicament back in year 11. My sixth form wasnt great but it wasn't awful, I had friends there, got on with most of my teachers and got great GCSEs there. Basically everything told me to stay and so I left! It's the best decision I've made.

My sixth form college is about an hour bus ride from home but it's worth the travel (and it lets me get last minute homeworks done lmao). I got to meet so many new people and I've had so much more trust and independence that I would ever have had at my high school. My AS Levels came out great and it's just generally been an awesome place to be.

Every place will differ obviously but that was my experience. Don't worry about not making friends or fitting in! If I managed to do it, anyone can. If you truly believe leaving will give you the best opportunities, resources and teaching I'd recommend leaving but this is a decision only you can make.

Well I didn’t stay at my secondary school’s sixth form because I didn’t like the people there and didn’t want to stay there for another two years. Going to a different college allowed me to meet new people and go to new places because I met a lot of people who lived in completely different areas from mine (I have a friend who lives in Essex). Overall, going to another college made me happier.

I stayed at mine but I also got 2 offers! honestly its just a sixth form and then afterwards you just do what you want. You may find that they are more lenient in the 2nd year so you can leave in your frees
