    I don’t think either is better than the other - you should do what you’re going to do best in, as if you’re applying for an English based degree I don’t think they’ll be bothered about your third subject as long as it’s essay based, so do what you’ll get the best grade in

    I think History is harder and probably won't be relevant to teaching English so I'll probably pick philosophy.
