It's up to you to figure out. Some people can't concentrate with music (or need something that can't distract them with words like classical music or instrumental dance music). Other people don't find it distracting at all or find it helps them to absorb things better.

What works for someone else might not work for you. Experiment and see what works best for you.

Music definitely helps me get through a long revision session. Very motivating!

    checkout study music on YouTube.
I have converted a few different types to mp3 for my iPod. I've found a few that have increased my productivity and concentration. I have different types for how I'm feeling. like sometimes I don't want to listen to classical music and sometimes I don't want to hear noises like rain or birdsong.

Personally I find instrumental or soundtrack music pretty good for studying too, but that anything with actual words gets too distracting - weigh up whether you'll still be able to concentrate with whatever you're listening to, and go from there. It can be helpful though

there have been studies to show its bad for revising as a proportion of you thoughts are on the music so it's best to be in silence , if you feel like you must study with music use nothing with words or sudden changes of tempo

    I can't study in silence.
no noise is more of a distraction.
I hate the quiet. can get "ringing" in my ears where there is no noise.
I also grew up on the edge of a major road, so the hum of the road was soothing. I live in a quiet village and it's the only thing I miss.

I hadn't thought of that, thanks.
I've just worked down the list and saved what I liked. I'll definitely look to see if there is some
