I've recently moved to a new area, and there aren't many other people my age (being 40). Does anyone know how to cope with homesickness or have any tips for making new friends, thanks in advance, you guys are the best <3

Are you working? How do you get on with your colleagues? You could look into volunteering to meet people - don't feel restricted to making friends with people who are the same age as you, as you might find common interests with people who are younger/older than you.

In terms of homesickness, I would try to keep yourself as busy as possible in your free time. If you have nothing to do, you will have time to think about how much you miss your family/friends. Learn some hobbies or attending local events, going to museums, etc. will occupy your mind and you will also get personal enjoyment from them too. It won't be easy, but with time you will settle in.
