It depends. You're ambitious man may jump ship with your client list where as your steady mum may well be loyal for many years. Who do you hire?
The point is that as our population ages, immigration slows and increased life expectancy sees people have several careers, employers are going to have to adapt. There is a mass of untapped talent out there in the form of family women. The companies who can accommodate these people are the ones that will win in the long run. People are fed up of being treated with contempt by business and that goes for men and women.
