So, i have applied to go to uni this year to study neuroscience and have all 5 offers. Sounds perfect right? well... i'm just not convinced at all i actually want to study neuroscience for a whole 3 years. At the time of applying for uni in October time i didn't have a clue what to apply for and i know it sounds bad but i basically panicked and picked neuroscience out of the air and rolled with it. Don't get me wrong, it does interest me, but i'm just worried that i would struggle with it (as biology a-level isn't exactly easy). Was thinking maybe geography instead but still completely stuck now. clearing is an option but is there actually course left? also that's extremely stressful on the day!!? A gap year is always an option but have no direction there too!! Possibly a ski season? but there just seems to be so many decisions that need to be made really quickly and i just don't have any ideas! Any would be appreciate

Neuroscience is an excellent degree! Do you have any ideas what you want to do for life? Geography and neuroscience are fairly different courses and opens up different career paths. Are you going in from A-Levels? What grades have you got / are you predicted?

Well it sounds so cliche but i dont want to be stuck in a 9-5 office job, so the idea of working outside or in different environments appeals. that's the problem with neuroscience as its so incredibly lab based- in all the courses there isnt a single trip. which i know isnt the be-all-and-end-all but not ideal. yeah currently studying a levels, english, biology and geography and have been predicted AAA (if i actually get that is another story)

Well then it all depends on what you want to do in life. Obviously you can do neuroscience and then something else; or you can decline all the offers and go for a gap year. It sounds to me your mind is already made up

    * I am biased though, working as a doc in neurology so feel free to ignore me
