The entire question was worth 5 marks
We got given the formula for the area of a semi circle and a rectangle attached to it, in terms of pie and r (radius) and it was equal to A.
Then it asked to prove that the greatest area of the shape was an expression, which they gave us.
I differentiated the equation they gave us, but got the wrong value of r (radius expression), meaning that I could never make it equal to the expression they told us to equal it to.
I differentiated correctly, and proved that it would be maximum, but rearranged to make subject r incorrectly, meaning I could not prove it at all.
