    Hi there I am leaving my course and was wondering what happens with student loan, does this still get paid until the year is over as the total amount still needs to be paid back ?

    Nope, when you cease to be a student i.e leave uni then you cease to be entitled to student funding and it stops plus you need to repay any overpayment immediately. i.e if you get paid for 12 week term, but only stay for half of the term then you have to pay the other half back.

    Depending on your reasons they have discretion to let you have 60 days discretionary and you can reach an arrangement if you cant pay the rest. You then need to go on benefits.

    If you are in uni accommodation then in theory you still have to pay for that, so read the terms .

    The rest of your student loans/ borrowed money is not repayable till you start earning over £21k soon to be £25k.
