dont understand this psy fact

The brain has 100,000 miles of axons which can wrap around the earth 4 times.

Its not relevant to my studies but i just dont get how this can be true cos how can something fit inside our body yet be long enough to go around the earth. Axons must be small but then more of them are needed to get to 100,000 miles i just dont get it.

It's a bit like your small intestines being almost as long as a Double Decker bus - strange but true

These little bits of info are likely just wrong, I see no reason for anyone to have come up with it.
