My nostril piercing is tight around the rod (currently wearing a 20 gauge bone stud) when I try to remove it. Its fine (not tight, twists easily, slids in and out to where the ball on the inside touches the inner part of my nostril) until I try to move it/switch it when the ball that holds it in is in the piercing canal it hurts but I can replace it with a different (in color only) stud. I recently tried to replace the stud with a ring of the same size but it wouldnt go past half way through. I'm not sure if this is some sort of infection, although I keep it very clean, or a keloid or something else. Does/has anyone have/had this problem? If so I need a solution please and thank you.

A stud is straight, and a ring is curved. Sometimes it's difficult to get a ring into piercings that have healed with a stud in, but don't force it through. If you're struggling to get it through yourself, have a piercer try. If you go to the one that did it they'll often do it for free or for a very small charge, and they'll be able to tell you if there's anything wrong with it too
