Hey, so I’m currently in year 11 and I have to pick my options within the next 3 weeks I believe!

I currently do French, Geography and Triple Science, I regret doing 2/3 of these because when I chose them in year 8, I chose them to impress others rather than myself!

So for next year I wanted to do French, as I’m interested in getting a degree in French after I finish school, product design, because I wanted to do that for GCSE, and they’re offering it at my sixth form, plus it’s 50% coursework, so it won’t be as much exam for me, as I don’t cope well with exams.

But for my 3rd option, I’m stuck between English lit and psychology, I only really need French, and I prefer psychology but as someone who wants to either study in Kings College, UCL or Queen Mary’s university, I need to do what they prefer.

So what do I do? What looks better? Do unis care more about grades or what’s more facilitating?

Thank you all for taking the time to read this!

Facilitating subjects are there to keep your options open (e.g. if you want to do an English degree you need to study English). Unis care far more about your grades. Do what you enjoy.

Grades, especially in this case since it’s a French degree you’re looking at. So do the subject you think you’ll do better in/enjoy more for your final choice.
