I have been thinking of leaving for a couple of months and I know a lot of people don't like me on here (not that I care). What do you think I should do?
You've been thinking about this for a couple of months?? I think you're taking this a bit too seriously. Maybe take a break and come back later.

Would be a shame to see you go. And I agree, the clickbait is godawful.

TSR is now just a vanity project for a few people's CVs (those who work in the head office in Brighton). Completely unnecessary changes are made which frustrate users; it's incredibly obvious that these things are a, "Look at me, I can make changes to this website, this will look good on my CV", type thing and are just done for the sake of it. 'Today on TSR' is always total clickbait; the admins twist the titles and meanings of threads so much so they get more clicks. There is more advertising than ever before in an attempt to make as much money as possible.

Many people's threads are about situations where applying a little bit of common sense would fix the whole thing. Homophobic and racist content is posted and it stays for longer than it should, therefore threads get more views and thus TSR makes more money from advertising.

The mobile site seems to have been purposely made to lag and jump to get more people to download and use the app, which is another vanity project (I have used the mobile site on top Apple and Android devices and all have the same issues). TSR never needed an app but since so many companies have apps these days, TSR has been championing its own pointless app; the people in charge think it will look good on their CVs that they made and maintain an app.

I have been thinking of leaving for a couple of months and I know a lot of people don't like me on here (not that I care). What do you think I should do?
Since I'm new here, I'm already feeling regretful for joining TSR. lol.
So before you go I wanted to ask, why did you join TSR in the first place?(this an honest question, no sarcasm)
and why do you think people hate you? I don't think that's a very valid reason to leave, you know. I mean like I joined this place because I needed help with the subjects I study at home. So I thought this place would be helpful. So as long as you get answers for your questions , I think it's worth staying.

P.S if you've seriously made up your mind and are ready to leave, but are looking forward to a place more interesting than TSR than I'd suggest you "QUORA". It's a pretty interesting place!

You're one of TSR's most interesting people. Please don't leave us.

Thank you for the kind words. TSR doesn't want interesting people; it wants as many people to click as possible, that's it. I'm finding it hard to find reasons to stay.

It's not like I've been thinking about it for a long time every day, it's just a thought that has sometimes crossed my mind.

I joined TSR because my doctor told me to try to interact with people I wouldn't usually bother with (I'm incredibly confident in real life and I don't think most people are worth my time, unless they're attractive or think in a smilar way to me). As you're new you wouldn't know why some people on here hate me. Thank you, I will have a look at Quora.

The criticism of the website is well founded. The advertising is beyond a joke and the administration and moderation is appalling.

But as for your personal use of it, and whether you should stay or not, get a grip. No-one on here cares whether you live or die, let alone whether you continue to post or not.

Edit: That sounds unduly harsh. What I meant was that very few people in our lives really care in any deep sense about us, our families, a few close friends. They might be on this website but it is unlikely and you knew them already.

This is the internet, not real life.

It's an online forum for students, it really doesn't need to be made into more than it is or need any of this hand-wringing.

    Yes, you should leave.

In all seriousness, I have been thinking of leaving for a long time. The site has years since gone to seed and been commercialized for all it's worth. I've only stayed because I have one or two good friends on here, with whom I can't keep contact by any other means. Mostly I've already migrated to Reddit, where there's much more interesting (and wider) discussion gonig on, and it doesn't have to be family friendly either - I can look at homebrewing wines/meads on one thread, gadget news on another, and porn on another. It really is what TSR wishes it could grow up to be. There's no censorship, no language filters, nothing like that. All they ask is that you keep polite, and put NSFW tags on things that are NSFW.

    Have you thought about Reddit?

Around ten years ago, TSR had a genuine spirit of community. A far, far different place to what it is now.
