For extract and essay questions, do we have to remember the act and scene for quotes that we use? or in the extract ,state the act and scene from where its from?

i usually mention it, especially when comparing and contrasting the character in different acts x

for extract Qs (for edexcel at least), only use quotes from the given extract

Often your answer will be different depending on which part of the text you're focusing on. For this reason it's useful if you do know them, but it's not completely necessary, instead you can use phrases such as "Later in the play" etc. to show time passing if you can't remember specifics
