Hi everyone, I have offers from both of these universities and cannot come to a decision as to which I should firm. I love both of them, Courtauld perhaps slightly more, but I am hesitant to decline the Oxford offer. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Well the Courtauld is pretty much *the* institution for History of Art, of course very well known and respected in the field, whereas Oxford is Oxford and still excellent for History of Art, so in terms of reputability I can't imagine there's a lot of difference.
However they'll have different content and definitely different teaching styles. Do you like the idea of Oxford tutorials, or do you prefer the Courtauld's teaching style (presumably more conventional in terms of uni lectures but I'm not sure)?
Each comes with its own very different version of student life too. At Oxford you'll be living in your college, probably not very far from the course department, and the city is relatively small and quiet. Whereas you'll possibly be living a long way away from the Courtauld, and London is huge and fast-paced, and a very different lifestyle comes with that.
If it were me, I'd be just as stuck but would probably be too reluctant to reject Oxford and would opt to go there, and might later consider doing a further degree at the Courtauld. That's only what I'd do myself and am not advising it, just choose whichever place you most want to go and will be happiest in

Oxford. They are on the same level of reputation for History of Art. But if you want to be flexible in job prospects, hand down Oxford. It has the name, both nationally and internationally. Meanwhile, Courtauld? I doubt people from other fields would know it.
