I've applied to study English Lit in September 2018 and I have all my offers back so far, my top three are Uni of Leeds, Uni of Manchester and Uni of Glasgow. Leeds and Manc are asking for AAA and Glasgow is asking for AAB. I preferred Glasgow on the open day, the uni and the city felt more alive and like it had its own personality, whereas Leeds and Manc seemed a bit sterile and unfriendly, but I'm worried about choosing Glas over Manchester or Leeds when the other two are supposed to be more prestigious and impressive to employers.
Is there enough of a difference in reputation between Manchester and Glasgow to make it worth choosing what seems like a more impressive one (Manchester) over one where I feel like I'd be happier (Glasgow)???
Pls give advice and thoughts i'm very stressed about this decision haha.

Manchester is overhyped...to an extent. The only factor that it has an edge over Glasgow would be their brand image, as in, more people would KNOW Manchester for obvious reasons if you search for jobs abroad, in contrast to Glasgow. I say pick Glasgow if it ticks most of your checklist.
As for Leeds, can't comment on it since I don't live there or know much about their Uni (I live in Manchester, literally 10 min drive away from the Uni) .

Go on whatuni, you can compare the stats of the 3 unis. Itll show you students satisfaction, teaching standard, fairly marked work, rate of employment after graduation etc. Itll give you a fairly good idea which uni is genuinely better.Last edited by Smcelwee827; 21-02-2018 at 12:22.
