    Hi - sorry you haven't had a response to this yet. I'm just going to bump the thread in the hope that someone sees this and can help

    I think by study abroad, it means that you plan to study at university in a foreign country for your whole programme (3 or 4 years, depending on your programme). Meanwhile, exchange means you will study abroad for a certain period of time— semester or year.
