MA History VS MA South Asian Area Studies

Hello,

I am confused which program to apply to. The MA History offers a South Asian focus while the South Asian Area Studies does not seem to offer a lot of history courses .... Has anyone taken either of these programs ? What has your experience been like thus far ? I am especially looking for feedback from the MA South Asian Area Studies ? What is this program like ?

Any input would be super appreciated.
