    Hi,

I am 23 and looking for a way to take A Level / AHE maths to prepare myself for a foundation computer science degree.

I know I have access to HE advanced learner loans which enable me to study a course and have the money written off once I complete a 3 year BA Degree.

Would you do A Level Maths, Access To Higher Education Diploma OR something else?

I got a C in maths when I did my GCSEs (although I never put in the effort to revise)

    Cheers

A number of people self teach maths a level, so it might be worth exploring that route, either via a distance learning provider or just using a tutor (or solely on your own if you’re confident enough or want the cheapest option). You’d need to find an exam centre to sit the exams.

If you did an access course, would this be purely maths or would it be for computer science? I think they can be good to give you an experience of what’ll be expected during your foundation degree, but if you’re just trying to brush up on your maths skills then they may or may not be the best way. It depends on what you want to get out of it at the end of the day
