1. I don’t understand the explanation as to how to do this question at all. Please can you help me.

2. The angle where the letter L is can be found as 180 - 15 = 165 . We know this because the 2 north lines are parallel, and so the angles between 2 parallel lines equal 180. You can then calculate YLC as 360 - 165 - 110 = 85. From this you can apply the cosine rule to find the length of YC (I assume you understand this rule?)

Yes, the only bit i didn’t understand was how they worked out that YLC is 85, so thank you so much.
