    Hi there,

I recently received an offer to study medicine at Manchester, and I'm considering my accommodation options for September. I'd be very grateful if any Manchester students could advise me on some queries I have about the accommodation situation in Manchester.

    I'm looking for self-catered, en-suite halls.

    1. Fallowfield or City?
Having done some research, I think I'd personally prefer the Fallowfield lifestyle over the quieter areas in Victoria Park. However, I was wondering what the atmosphere in City accommodation is like. Is it quiet too, and do you have to travel to Fallowfield for socialising?

However, I think city accommodation could potentially be in a more convenient location, especially because I would be at uni Monday-Friday on my course. Any insight into the potential pros and cons would be really helpful

    2. What's the deal with internet access?
I think nearly all the halls have wired internet, but many don't have wifi. Do students organise their own internet as a flat?

    3. Thoughts on:
    A) Richmond Park (Fallowfield)
    B) Sheavyn House
    C) Denmark Road

    Thank you so much!

Hi! Really sorry I'm very late to your thread, just came across it scrolling through Manchester threads. I've firmed Manchester to study Music in September but I applied to accommodation quite a while ago. I chose Richmond Park, Sheavyn House and Denmark Road in that order of preferences. I know quite a few people who have gone to Manchester and all recommended to stay in Fallowfield as it's the most social area. A friend told me that I'd regret not choosing Fallowfield even though it's quite far out. I put Denmark Road as my third choice as I wasn't a huge fan of any other Fallowfield halls other than Richmond and Sheavyn. Hope this helps and I might see you around in September!!
