Sorry that you didn't get the result that you'd hoped for!

It's unfortunate that you didn't, but it's something you do have to accept and move on from. Dwelling on this isn't going to help you get further. Look into your other options, make sure to study up as much as possible before you take any other applicant tests, and perhaps look into non-russell group universities (as these aren't necessarily worse universities).

Try not to let this one test affect your self-esteem so much. One test can't measure your overall intelligence, your passion for your subject, your ability to learn and grow, or any aspect of your personality.

On my results day, I didn't get the results I'd hoped for and didn't get in to my firm or insurance choices of university. I cried a lot, and felt terrible seeing my peers going to their first choice universities and seeming more successful than me. I went through clearing, and found a course that sounded great to me that I hadn't even looked at before. I'm now in third year here at Sheffield Hallam, and genuinely feel very glad that I ended up here. It's a place that suits me, everyone's friendly, the city is exciting and there's so much going on, I have support on my course and I'm predicted a 1st at the end of my course. I have work experience, the chance to go and work abroad afterwards, and have taken part in great opportunities within both my university and the city. Hopefully this is something that shows you that you can turn this around, find somewhere you love that suits you, and achieve whatever you want to there, regardless of this small setback.

    Chin up, and good luck

    Ellie
