I have a serious long term illness. (CKD disease) which really affected me during GCSES and I got bad gcses including one D. This is because of how much I missed and how unwell I was.

During YR 12 I have been seriously ill and have had 8 operations however I finished YR 13 and obtained A*A*A*.

I am planning on taking a gap year as I have been v ill and need time to myself. In the Gap year I am planning on doing 6 months working with A level historians and 6 months travelling to see historic places. (if you have anything else i can do let me know)

I think I can do well in the history apitude test. Is it worth applying to Oxford with exenuating circumstances. I am also well read in history.

Congratulations on those A level grades. I would imagine that, along with a clear statement of your extenuating circs, they will easily outweigh indifferent GCSEs. I don't know anything about History or the HAT specifically, but the standard advice applies - keep reading, and don't worry about extra-curriculars unrelated to your chosen course.
